B-Ball & BBQ

August 18th, 2003

First, a quick shout to Roger and Jenny for a great BBQ yesterday. Great sausages, company, football, and gaff.

Roger and Jenny tend the beach barbequeBefore the BBQ we went down to the seafront to catch some hoop-action at the Basketball tournament. It turned out to be Streetball (although I don’t appreciate the difference) and it was very cool. There were some great moves on court, lots of urban types hanging around, and lots of nice kicks to sidelong glance at: beaucoup Air-Force 1’s in particular, were in evidence.

Photos: hoop shot 1, hoop shot 2 – (a covert ‘Essence of Brighton shot, including a ruined pier and a rainbow-sailed boat)

Via rift-trooper: Nikes we can look forward to next year. Nothing really blows me away, although the Safari’s are looking quite nice.

In the evening, in accordance with my selling strategies, my latest batch of ebay items closed. The hero was a copy of Now 8 (1986) on cd, which went for a satisfying £45. At the boot sale itself there was a guy selling still-sealed Global Underground house cd’s for £2 each. I snapped up a few for me and a few for the internet, and I’ve been busy ripping them to my work PC today. The Lee Burridge mix seems to be the best of them so far. To keep the ball rolling, I dutifully started another set of auctions almost immediately.
