CD integration

August 25th, 2004

Last week I finally brought our cd collections together in whole-ly
wedded union. From this day forward. In synthpop and in house.

This might not mean a lot to many readers, but many more will richly
appreciate the significance of such a step. I truly believe (with only
half a smirk of exaggerated license) that this mixing of tunes is a more
profound commitment to each other than the marriage itself.

And if you have trouble appreciating this, just imagine your spouse
/ partner / lover etc. with a knowing gleam in their eye, unexpectedly
start referring to the cherished music on your shelves as ‘our’ collection.

Whilst the integration is at least in theory reversible, in practice
it could never happen. World War I was caused by an argument over Archduke
Ferdinand’s collection of Moldovan Marching Band 78’s, and I can only
imagine that the inevitable conflict that would attend attempting to
seperate our cd’s would be on a similar scale.
