Linkgasm
November 29th, 2005
It’s been too long, so here, in one go, is a big gush of links:
- Desperate to see the Back to the Future Nikes on the shelves? Sign the petition
- From the celebrity endorsement archive: Snoop, inevitably, is to launch a range of weiners called [groan] ‘Snoop Doggs’. And if the salty tang of Da Boss Dogg’s sausage proves too briny for you, why not rinse it down with a slug of energising Lightening Bolt, by Steven Seagal.
- A clever bit of creative in the men’s room, thanks Pete. And while we’re on the subject, lets get peeandpoo.com out of the way. Check out the cuddely toys, under ‘products’ (flash required). Thanks Tom
- Stef pipes-up with a couple of nice pieces of urban vinyl: Bob Moog pulls rank on Danny Howells, although Howells is a big favourite in the robotperson household thanks to superb recent Global Underground and GU 24:7 mixes.
- Oh God, I’ve found a Successory® that I actually like.
- Love the Sloganizer:
readfile(“http://www.sloganizer.net/en/outbound.php?slogan=Robotperson”); [hit refresh]
- New scientist have a long-running correspondence open on coincidentally appropriate names – a phemenon they’ve termed nominative determinism, examples of which are aptonyms. Here’s a couple I’ve come across recently:
- Wright Hassall solicitors. Seriously guys, you didn’t have to make it obvious.
- The British Association of Plastic Surgeons win the appropriate acronym award
- More aptonyms
