Life in the Undergrowth

December 14th, 2005

Lara and I generally don’t share the sofa on an evening, but roughly once a year a tv show will come along that we both really enjoy. This year it’s Life in the Undergrowth, David Attenborough’s macro-lensed take on life at the insect scale, and I love it.

It’s the first TV I’ve actually looked forward to since last year’s Long Way Round, Ewan McGregor’s superb motorcycle odyssey.

Tonight episode is “intimate relations”, which I guess is about symbiosis. I’m excited already. Fans of Microcosmos will love it.
