The Belle Vue pub, Brighton
June 22nd, 2006
A story of customer care at the Belle Vue pub, Brighton, for the benefit of Googling Brightonians inclined to listen to advice.
The short version of this tale is that the owner of the Belle Vue pub, Brighton is a belligerant arsehole, totally unwilling to take responsibility for his mistakes, and more, profoundly uncool when confronted fairly and rationally.
The details are trivial, but suffice to say that having called to check that they were showing the footer ("yes"), ringing mates to arrange rendez-vous, arriving, and then getting-in a pint, to then find that they weren’t actually capable of showing the match was disappointing and annoying.
However, honest mistakes happen, so I simply asked for are refund on my beer and off I would go. But no, belligerant arsehole manager of the Belle Vue pub, Brighton, refuses (agressively), and shrugs off my increasingly bemused, then annoyed, attempts to reason.
Robotperson is simply not taking this sort of treatment any more, particularly from belligerant arseholes like the manager of the Belle Vue pub, Brighton. So I reasoned in increasingly loud and, unfortunately, disruptive terms for a good 5 minutes before eventually offering my beer to another punter, and departing in surprisingly good humour for another pub.
The moral of this story, for fair and reasonable Brightonians inclined to listen to advice, is not to go to the Belle Vue pub in Brighton, which is run by a belligerant arsehole.
