Healthcare Commission
October 13th, 2006
Yesterday the annual NHS performance ratings were published by the Healthcare Commission. It was headline news on the BBC and most other news websites I looked at, and I’m feeling a glow of paternal pride. I’ve spent most of the last 6 months working on the information architecture for this project.
I’m pretty happy overall, although there’s still room for improvement. For instance, “Annual health check” as the name for the whole system tested badly with users – they thought it referred to getting their yearly check-up (my alternative was the more meaningful “Annual performance ratings”). But there’s plenty to be happy about.
The infographics (pictured above – example) were something we spent a lot of time on. I think they communicate what is a complicated proposition pretty well.
Take a look. Check out your local providers; see if you find anything interesting.
