Spicy family secret

Mother recently passed on to me an ingredient for her bolognaise recipe which her own mother, my Maltese Grandma had tipped her off to. As she casually mentioned this my thoughts turned immediately to Mediterranean family secrets, omerta, and the general glamour of secret things. Consequently it was with a measure of excitement in my voice that I asked if I should keep it a secret.
"Oh, no" was her breezily deflating answer, "tell anyone you want". Humph.
So here it is: Mixed spice, 1 tsp. Keep it to yourself.
