- A terabyte of external storage would give me enough space to rip all my music to the lossless, open FLAC format and with considerable headroom to spare, too. I ain’t spending $1k though.
- Champion’s league of audio codecs. Looks about as scientific as my champion’s league.
- On the subject of which, I’ve been meaning to post this link to an interesting
article on European perceptions of each other. Beer is used in
an analogy:
"In Britain, Stella is marketed as a premium Continental lager, whereas at home in Belgium, it is considered a down-market brew. In unbranded taste tests, where the label is not shown, Stella often finishes last"

- Robotperson sibling and Spain correspondent, Babe, stays in touch with the motherland via streaming Radio 4. She tipped us off to I’m Sorry I haven’t a clue, but sadly I’m too tardy to link to the episode she recommended, which included a phenomenal rendition of ‘Girlfriend in a coma’ to the tune of ‘Tiptoe through the tulips’. Quality every week, so well worth a listen.
- Avast! September 19 be International talk like a pirate day! Arrr.
- Adidas Questar on the way back. My last pair was in ‘87.
