Minimum - Maximum

You’ve got to love Kraftwerk. You’d think that with the machine-music, and the German stereotype, they’d be dour and straight. But no, the humour is in there. Dry and understated.
I’ve been listening to their live album, Minimum - Maximum, a lot recently. As well as the music being superb, it’s frequently funny if you can tune-in to the humour.
Take the track Vitamin, for instance: Ralph feels peckish one day in the studio, so Florian checks the kitchen. All they have in are coco-pops, but as he’s munching through a bowl Ralph idly reads the nutritional info and an eyebrow raises. Next thing you know he’s singing the lyric “Carbohodraate, protein; A-B-C-D, vitamin” to ten thousand Muscovites.
And even the brooding Radioactivity can do no better than “discovered by Madame Curie” to rhyme with “Radioactivity”. Genius.
